I had some time to kill today so I visited Graves RC hobby shop outside of Orlando, Florida. They have well stocked shelves and helpful people who are very knowledgeable.

Trying to build your collection in a common scale can be easy if you are doing armor, cars and planes but with helicopters is can get a bit trickier. Also some bonus content that I 'borrowed' for a little post credit fun.

I did this yesterday so you could enjoy it today. The Lindberg Russell Casse crop duster from ID4 isn't and some aviation movie trivia.
Coffee and Jeeps

The AFV 1/35 M-38A1 jeep kit is coming together but it is staying challenging. Also, a gloo trooper needs a part.

Bachmann: a brief history

A quick overview of Bachmann (aka Bachmann Bros.) who are mostly known for model trains but also for some kit models. I need to make a correction, The British Charioteer tank was 1/45 scale.
Happy Fathers Day

A happy Fathers day to all. I just did some research and a pit stop at Hurricane Hobbies where Ian came up with the idea of DOOR-STASH. Kits delivered right to your door. He has a 1/48 scale DRAGON WW2 Luftwaffe Mistel kit on the shelf and a few cool kits in the back waiting to get priced..
I do not have a styrene kit problem. I can find my way to the Hobby Shop by myself.
Yes to all !
Guilty of all and I don't care 😂
Hi, My name is Brian,,, And I do get excited when I see great deals on model planes... So is that Douglas B-26 [A-26] kit in frame [0:46] a reboot of the Fifties era Monogram box scale ''B-26'' ? I built one of those in my single digits.
Hi, my name’s Caleb, also known as Cable, it’s been an hour since I last glued styrene.
I would rearrange those messy model displays since I was 8 years old. It was always in the non hobby shops that could get really sideways and upside down and out of order.
Step 10. I will continue to take a personal inventory of my model stash, and when I was wrong buying that kit of a dinosaur in a weird scale at a hobby shop the next town over, I will promptly admit it.
To borrow a "quote" from Red Green, "I'm a modeller, I can change, if I have to, I guess."
"Hi, my name is ____ and I have a model kit problem."
I'll quit modelling when they start making biodegradable soy-based zero-carbon fair trade eco-friendly model kits and only of Teslas.
FEB.31 WILL BE MY LAST DAY BUILDING OR LOVING MODELS.GOD BLESS
@@ewmhop😂
That last line!
When and where do they hold the local Modelers Anonymous meetings? (Asking for a friend...)
😂
Great vid Max. Brings a smile and a chuckle. I need help Dr. Max, where do I sign up for M.A.?
Ok, I’ll go first, I’m a styrene addict, there, I’ve said it, now back to modelling :) model on
Hi. My name is Dave. I am a Modelaholic, have been one for over 60 years!
WHERE WAS THIS WARNING IN THE 70S. WHEN MY BROTHER AND I SPENT ABOUT 100 DOLLARS A MONTH ON MODELS? TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE
Yes to all the above. Not sorry.
Made me smile 😊
Ollie's has some gems in there from time to time. Definitely worth a visit. I'm lucky enough to have 4 within 30 or so mins from me.
THEY HAVE A SALE OF AN EXTRA 15 PERCENT OFF ,IT END TOMMOROW NITE.I GOING LATER IN THE DAY. TAKE CARE
Creepy
Mwhahaha!
The "Styrene Habit" cannot be cured, but it can be treated, with the controlled application of new kits. 😊
Is the Hurricane Hobbies you mention in Orange Park, FL, near Jacksonville?
I've actually got two Hawk kits in my stash awaiting building, both are the same 1/72 Spitfire Mk.22, the unique thing about the Hawk version is that they show the aircraft as it was originally built with the early Mk.XIV style fin and rudder and not with the later Spiteful style of fin and rudder that every other model manufacturer makes, it's strange just how many of these Hawk Spitfires are readily available on E-Bay at very reasonable prices.
Thanks my captain. To many of these parks are forgotten so thanks for the reminder. Despite the difficulties of your job I benefit for the service you and your brethren provide. Thank you.
wow
Do you know who I am?
Living in Orlando, I frequent Graves, as it is my definitive source for supplies (paint, balsa, brass, etc). It's kind of like going through "Grandpop's attic"; interesting things stuffed into every available nook and cranny. As Max said, well worth the visit if you are in/visit Orlando
Thank you.
Sadly Bill Graves passed a while back , but it’s great the store is still going. I remember before he had the store he would drive out to the flying field and sell RC equipment out of the back of his Vega station wagon. Great knowledgeable Staff and friendly too
I remember years ago you could climb up in it
Love Graves
You should check out the B-52 on gate guard duty at the Air Force Academy. You can see where they repaired battle damage!
I would love to have that model of Amelia Earhart's Electra, but I would hate to lose it and have to go to the Delta Quadrant to find it!😁
I spied rockets.😊
A few
You still keep thinking about Slim Pickins riding that bomb down!
Sign said "Now Hiring". Wonder if Max gave it any thought. 😀😀
Momentarily
Was that Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra NC16020 at frame [1:55]?
It was indeed! Good catch
@@scale_model_apprentice I had only seen B&W pictures of it, so I never knew about the Red leading edges and empennage. Not that it did her any good being spotted by search aircraft...
NR16020. 'R' for restricted due to the highly modified fuel system (no pax, crew only). Delivered as N16020 before U.S. registrations changed to 'NC' prefix. Model, sadly, looks broken. Used to see customers' L-10 and -12 on the Lockheed company ramp just west of the Vega Plant on the north side of Empire Ave. in the early Fifties. Free parking for visiting customers!
@@HootOwl513They force landed in the Marshall Islands. Japanese would not let USN search there due to sensitive military installations.
@@dalecomer5951 That's right NR, my bad. Hard to spot with the image at quarter screen.

Very cool shop 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Had a ton of fun with these rockets. I caught the bug from reading Heinlein at the right age. Just wonderful, thank you for the video.
Team Buff Forever Kicking ass and making glass.
Rock Lobster!
Planet Claire!
I know this comment is going to ruffle a lot of feathers, so here we go, you don't have enough space to display all your models if you are avid model builder, you will never have enough space! which is why after I build a model and enter it into a contest, afterwards I either donate it to a hobby shop, give it away or if someone offers to buy it I will sell it to at the cost of the kit, I have sold my models and lastly I'll just throw them away. The fun is the building of the model, once it's completed all you can do is look at it and in most cases we put it on a shelf under glass and never look at it again the fun is the journey not the destination.
Well Max I think the solution is pretty obvious you need to buy a bigger tarbus!!!!
What a cool park bird!
Need a big park to park a b-52. Safe travels Max. Take your time getting home and get a good rest.
I love these little out-of-the-way parks with a military vehicle or aircraft on display. Looking forward to the live-stream. 😊
Grandpa BUFF! Platforms giving each other sh&t as per normal intraservice rivalry but, as soon as an external threat appears…BAM! Same with interservice rivalry. Nice to have a location of relevance to relax.
TELL THE TRUTH FEARLESS LEADER,YOU TRYING TO FIGURE A WAY TO GET THAT B-52 HOME WITHOUT MRS.MAX KNOWING. BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS YOU AND FAMILY.
That is very awesome. What a great place to relax in.
